Continue...I think one of the hardest things mentally during the COVID-19 pandemic has been the sudden lack of things to look forward to. Normally, my days are spent in anticipation of an upcoming trip or hangout night with friends, so I’m able to enjoy the quiet moments since I know excitement is around the corner. How does one come to terms with the unknown, and enjoy this time instead of letting it go to waste while waiting for something that may not happen for a long time?

The Balkan countries have stunning coastlines, tall mountain peaks, and thousands of years of history and culture from Roman to Ottoman to Venetian to Austro-Hungarian and many more. There are forts and castles from all eras, charming coastal cities, and quaint mountain towns tucked into valleys. Plus, the people are friendly and the food is excellent.
